Challenge #46 ~ “A time travel novel.”
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
N.B. An ARC of this book was received from Net Gallery in return for an honest review.
My opinion in three sentences:
I put off reading this for a while, because (and, yes, it’s a really silly reason) I got approved for it around the same time as a couple of other ARCs on Net Gallery, and I really hadn’t enjoyed those. Dream Me, I am pleased to confirm, was an exception to the trend, and I ended up thoroughly enjoying it. The plot was well thought-out, different and yet comfortingly familiar, not to mention the cool layout or Berla’s writing style that immediately brings the reader in and makes them feel at home.
(Without spoiling anything) the best bit:
Berla’s unique layout of the book kept the momentum going, offered insight into multiple characters and helped maintain an element of intrigue. It was quirky, fun and made the book a joy to read.
A warning for the book:
Babe thinks dreaming’s addictive, but honestly, that has nothing on this book!
