Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

Challenge #42 ~ “A book that takes place on, in or under- water.”

My opinion in three sentences:

This was a great little duology, starting here with an explosive plot, a firecracker of a protagonist and some kickass characters. Whilst there were the familiar old elements of a good story, Levenseller also kicked it up with something a little different – and what a story the end result is! Be prepared to read the thing in one sitting because it is definitely un-put-down-able!

(Without spoiling anything) the best bit:

I really loved the concept Levenseller had, as well as how she executed it. It’s not the average story you come across and I was mightly afraid of being let down by a disappointing pirate story. This had all the twists and turns you needed, and certainly took no prisoners (no pun intended)!

A warning for the book:

I can think of only a couple:

  1. have the sequel to hand, because you will crave it once you finish, and
  2. make sure you have plenty of time to read it in, because putting it down isn’t an easy task!
